Welcome to the ShirleyBoard Community! As a site owner, you may network with caregivers like yourself (peers). For example, let's say you want to find a caregiver (peer) going through a similar situation as yourself in order to share experiences and/or ask them questions (e.g., they may be able to recommend some local resources you were not aware of). Or, maybe you want to find a volunteer who lives near the person you are caring for who is willing to be a companion to the person you are caring for - to deliver meals, do some shopping, etc.
See the power? However, in order to "find a peer", you must first "be a peer". Otherwise, the community does not work. I encourage you to participate in the Community by making yourself a peer. The quality of life of our aging loved ones depends on all of us helping one another and this was one of the main philosophical reasons the ShirleyBoard was created.
